Can girls of any size rock a shirt dress?

Hi Everyone! It's Kate!

I don't know about you, but I have some junk in the trunk, and I definitely have hips. So I've always been intimidated by dresses that aren't an A line, or an empire waist, and at least knee length. Well, I decided to give a shirt dress a try, and I LOVED it! My husband and I were having a lunch date, at a local restaurant on the river. It was a bit chilly, and we also wanted to walk around a bit after lunch. I decided to give the shirt dress a try and accessorize it up a bit.

I didn't want to spend a ton on a new dress that I wasn't sure I was going to really love. As luck would have it, I was in my local Walmart grabbing a box of diapers for my baby, and I walked right past this gem! A nice dark denim and a pretty decent fabric. It has a belt that ties at the waist which really helped to accentuate my waist line. It has cute button details on the arms as well as the chest. It's a simple, classic dress.

I paired it with my J Crew puffer vest in the color "poppy" and a check scarf by Burberry and my gorgeous red Hunter wellies. Side note: If you have wider calves like I do, check out Hunter's "Huntress" boots. I purchased mine from Nordstrom. They accommodate larger calves and are oh so comfy. I also went with black tights due to the chillier weather.

If I can rock this dress, so can you! I found it to be very flattering and also super comfy. I look forward to styling this dress a million different ways.

Love, Kate 💋
