A Magical Dress for a Magical Date!

Hello Ladies,
Firstly, I’m sorry for such an extended absence here on the blog, more about all of that in my next post. You’ll have to excuse the bit of inefficiency in this post, as I’m currently in the market for a new laptop and I’m creating this post from my phone.

For now, let’s jump into it, shall we?

My husband and I attended a symphony this past weekend, it was a Pop’s Concert as part of the York Symphony Orchestras trip around the world, ending in London, England, with The Magical Music of Harry Potter! They played music from all eight blockbuster films. It was stunning, and you guessed it, magical! If you live in the area, please check out the York Symphony Orchestra next September when their season begins again. Or visit your local symphony! The family seated directly behind us drove over four hours to hear this stunning concert! Music is a gift to the soul. Listening to and watching them create right in front of you, it’s such an experience, something you have to be present for to truly appreciate. Check out my previous post here, all about the Strand Capitol building, home to The Appell Center for Performing Arts!

So on to what I wore for this magical experience! Dressing for the symphony, there is such a wide range of dress code, depending on the venue, the price of your ticket, the time of day, and several other factors. I’ve learned over our years of going to the symphony’s (Baltimore, Princeton, and York) that you will most certainly see a little bit of everything, from tux’s and gowns, to jeans and sneakers. I always err on the side of being “overdressed” rather than under. This concert was early evening, so I went with a blush colored, light weight dress, perfect for spring, that I found at ASOS via The Cambridge Mums! It is called the “TFNC midi dress”, and be sure to check it out in the links below. Also, check out Cambridge Mums Instagram for lots of fun outfit ideas and combinations, especially if you like following the Duchess of Cambridge’s style, as I do. This dress is a near perfect “CopyKate” of the Duchess’ Alexander McQueen dress worn to her sister Pippa’s wedding. I could not love it more! Huge thanks to, “The Cambridge Mums” for introducing me to it. If you are a curvy girl like me, be sure to checkout ASOS Curve, they have so many styles and so many gorgeous pieces.

For this look, I went light on the accessories because this was a day time look and the dress is so beautiful on its own. For earrings, I wore these gorgeous pale pink “Moonlight” drop earrings by Bauble Bar that I purchased at Nordstrom. They are so beautiful, the texture is very unique. They most definitely look like they’d set you back in the pocket book a daybit, but they were a fabulous bargain. I’ve linked them below.

For shoes, I wore my nude LK Bennett Sledge heels. Normally, I personally wouldn’t go with patent leather during the day, but being that they are nude, I think they are perfect day time shoes.

That’s all for today ladies, If you’ve stuck with me through my prolonged hiatus, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll dive more into it in my next blog post! Have a lovely day, wherever in the world you are.

Love,

Kate
