Blanket scarves are all the rage right now. Actually, they have been for quite some time. I first fell in love with this trend (that's here to stay) last fall. I just can't tell you how much I use my blanket scarf, so I'm going to show you! First of all, it goes with everything, and you can style them so many different ways. I put together a little lookbook to give you a few ideas about how to style one!
Look Number One
For the first look I did a casual shopping day, or lunch date look, or even a movie date, it's always freezing in movie theaters. I am so into this gorgeous mustard yellow color that's just everywhere right now. I paired the sweater with my favorite chambray shirt and some navy "curvy" jeans from Ann Taylor and my classic navy New Balance sneakers.
I accessorized with a gold statement bracelet and halo diamond stud earrings from Nordstrom and my Hermes Clic Clac bracelet
This NYX Cosmetics buttergloss in "Spice Cake" is quickly becoming a fall favorite of mine.
The yellow in the scarf is really brought out by this sweater.
Look Number Two
This is a look I'd wear to a sporting event, or even a camping trip. It's called a blanket scarf for a reason! It's chic enough to be worn without looking like you are literally toting a blanket around with you. But it IS a blanket. Cuddle up on the bleachers or around the campfire and get cozy!
Look Number Three
Date night! This is a super classy way to wear your blanket scarf! Drape it over your shoulders. Now you could just leave it at that and wear it like a shawl. But I took it one step further and decided to accentuate my figure by belting it in the middle. This shirt dress is from Walmart! Can you believe it? What a hidden treasure! You can read my blog post about this dress here if you are interested. Since we are entering the cooler months, I threw on some black tights to keep my legs warm and these fabulous "Royal" booties by Aquatalia by Marvin K. I purchased these booties after the Duchess of Cambridge wore them multiple times. I figured if she can do walk abouts in them, then they must be comfortable. I was so right, they are and I love their look as well. I get endless use out of them in fall and winter, and who am I kidding, into spring as well.
I've even worn these booties walking around in New York City and they never hurt my feet. Check out the brand Aquatalia if you are in the market for some boots!
Look Number Four
Stay warm on the trails or on long autumn walks. Comfy boyfriend jeans and a sweater with a puffer vest to top it off, make for a comfy and oh-so-warm combo for brisk fall day. And you'll look cute too!
Comfy and functional, but classy.
Look Number Five
Keeping with the same theme as above, functional and cute. This scarf is such a hearty material, you really don't have to be worried about dirtying it up or ruining it. So USE it. Take it on all of your fall and winter adventures.
I paired mine with my "Downtown Field Jacket" by J Crew for a walk along the river.
Look Number Six
This is more of a lunch date or shopping day look. Put together, but still super warm and cozy. As I've mentioned in previous posts, I love navy blue!
Navy blue "Curvy" jeans by Ann Taylor, a Navy puffer vest from J Crew, and a navy and white stripped shirt from Nautica. So much navy, but the scarf and stripes really add dimension and texture to the outfit.
Look Number Seven
This is a look I showed previously in a post that I did about these gorgeous red Hunter boots. If you'd like more info on them, you can read about them here.
I purchased my scarf from Etsy and it's been an incredibly worthwhile purchase. As you can see, it's so versatile. Dress it up, dress it down, it goes with everything! Different colors even give it a different look!
I've ordered two different color options and am very impatiently awaiting their arrival. I will be sharing those with you once they arrive! But the one I featured today is the most sought after color, so I figured I couldn't go wrong sharing that one for now.
I can't wait to try out a few more styles and tying techniques with it. I tend to wear mine only a few different ways, but I'm looking forward to trying some different options this fall and winter. Check out this blog post from "Kelly in the City" on other blanket scarf tying options!
Thanks all for now!
Love,
Kate
